Will A Coating Last As Long As It Is Rated For?
A question I often get asked is “will a 1, 3 or 5 year coating last as long as you say it does?” This is a major concern my clients in the past and future clients will have, so today I am going to answer this question.
First, let’s get into the thinking of why people ask this question. Someone that asks this question may have had an experience before where they bought something that was rated or had a “guarantee” for X or Y many years, only to have the product fail on them within that time frame and the seller not back the “guarantee” that came with the product. This creates the problem that many service providers or product sellers experience, a lack of trust from their clients/customers.
I will say that if you have been a victim of this, I understand your concern, frustration, uneasiness and overall doubt of a product or service that is rated to last or perform or have a guarantee. I would be too! Your trust was broken, you feel like you were sold to and promised that you would be taken care of, only to be let down.
At DePorter Detailing, we are honest and transparent with our services. So to address the question of will a 1, 3, or 5 year coating last as long as we claim it will? The answer is it depends.
How does it depend? It depends because if you neglect your vehicle after having it coated; taking it through the brush wash, not washing it properly, not washing it at all, then it will simply not perform like it should. Think of it like the motor in your car, you need to have the oil changed every so often and you need to take care of it in order for it to work and perform well. A coating is the same, but no changing of oil or getting yourself elbow deep into an engine.
If you maintain your vehicle properly; I.E. washing it once a month with a hand wash using the two bucket method and proper wash soap (not dawn); it will last the time we say it will. The second part of proper maintenance is coming back every year for us to check on your vehicle. It is like a yearly checkup when you go to the doctor, they check your vitals and ensure you’re healthy. With our yearly check up we also check your vehicle to ensure it is healthy and performing like it should. We then give it it’s yearly “shot” with a topper coating to help revive it and keep it healthy.
The second part to this question we get asked is, what if I have issues with the coating? We believe that when you purchase a coating from us, you have now started a relationship with us as our client and will take care of you. If you have any issues, contact as soon as possible and we will get you in as soon as possible to get your issues and concerns addressed and fixed. If the coating is not performing like we stated it would we will have you come in for a “diagnostic” to see how it is performing and get it healthy once again.
When you do business with us,we ensure that your trust and satisfaction will be kept intact. Any questions or concerns will be answered and addressed. You become part of our family and are a priority to us. If you have any more questions on ceramic coatings send us an email at [email protected].
